DIPTIQUE Series

MISSSHAPE by Fikile and Jamal Nxedlana

MISSSHAPE is the new label that has been launched by Fikile and Jamal Nxedlana. The label was created in Johannesburg as a capsule collection for AW12 and can be found in Mememe stores.

"The name MISSSHAPE is a reference to the essence of clothing; the body and its shape. As a curvaceous African woman, Fikile Nxedlana found that clothing in stores, which fitted her bust did not fit her hip and vice versa, making the clothes look awkward and ill fitting. Over the years Fikile has worked with women of this particular body type and has created a metric system that considers these women’s body shape. This system has been applied to the Missshape collection and the clothing has been cut specifically for women with curves, so that a piece fits every area of the body like it is supposed to, without compromising on the style of the garment."
As a huge fan of the brand it is safe to say that the multitalented Jamal Nxedlana can add yet another feather to his cap of innovative ventures.
